Burger King

I loved Burger King as a kid, but since becoming a vegetarian I rarely visit burger restaurants. But the other day I was taking a morning flight to Beijing and I had a bit of time to kill before boarding, so decided a big breakfast was in order.

I was instantly drawn to Burger King’s (Level 6, Terminal 2) poster of mouthwatering CROISSANTS (I am a certified croissant maniac!). The croissants in question are Burger King’s signature Croissan’wich (served at breakfast only) which look like a mini burger, but the difference being they use a croissant rather than a regular burger bun. Their Mushroom Swiss Cheese Croissan’wich Meal had to be tried.

The croissant itself was freshly baked, beautifully golden, flaky, and most importantly still hot. My Croissan’wich was filled with juicy mushrooms, together with a lovely slice of Swiss cheese; it simply melted in my mouth! The meal comes with yummy crispy mini hash browns, who could ever say no to them?
And while at Burger King, I had to order the onion rings, my all-time Burger King favorite! I still have no idea why other fast food chains haven’t caught on to the power of the onion ring. It’s always fries, fries, and more fries. At Burger King, the onion rings are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, but not at all greasy. I love to dip the rings into mayo, rather than the ketchup…try and you’ll know why! And to finish an energizing cup of hot chocolate – you can’t go wrong.

Last but not least, I have to give the thumbs up to Burger King’s staff. When quizzed about their breakfast serving times, they said I could ring up any morning to check if my favorite meal was still available. Wow, and there I was talking to a fast food joint??!
