So often before heading to the airport, you are rushing and simply don’t have time to munch anything in the city, but then wish that you had when the hunger pangs kick in and you are still waiting to board. Or worse still, you are sitting on the tarmac and the dining trolley won’t be making an appearance for a long time. NOSH Café & Bar is then just what you need.
You’ll find NOSH in the Departure area (T1 Northwest Concourse L6-121, near Gate 64) after you clear security at Hong Kong International Airport. It is an eatery offering a variety of Western and Asian food and specializing in light meals. NOSH serves a fine selection of dishes and almost everything you could possibly desire – salad, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, rice, soup noodles, snacks, desserts and, of course, there are vegetarian options too.
Although NOSH is more like a fast food restaurant, the quality is superior to the fast food outlets that you usually find at airports, and a lot of the dishes contain a good, healthy dose of greens.
My favorite dish has to be their Veggie Burger – filled with grilled eggplant, zucchini and cucumber served in the softest of buns, it’s just so scrumptious that my mouth just starts watering whenever I think about it! My beloved potato wedges served on the side also bring a smile to my face.
I also crave for their Spaghetti alla Napoletana, using the simplest of ingredients, as is so often the way, is most effective. The juicy cherry tomatoes and fine olive oil provide the most appetizing power punch of sweet and sour. The portion is a good size too, and even so I still managed to polish the whole lot off in record time as it was just too good to resist.
Oh, and did I mention their Tomato and Cheese Focaccia and Middle Eastern Bean Salad are just as good? Who says fast food can’t be healthy and delicious?
