There’s no lack of Italian-inspired restaurants at the airport, but Spaghetti House was the family-friendliest one catering to mainstream tastes and preferences. Being part of the chain which has outlets around town, the airport branch – located in the Departure Hall inside the Restricted Area, features the same familiar menu with the rest, which included a la carte items such as pizza, pasta, salad and other main dishes.
I was there with my friends a few weeks ago for a quick lunch before we took off to Bangkok for a long weekend. There were abundant veggie options in Spaghetti House, as we glanced through the menu, the colorful vegetarian pizza caught our attention, rich tomato sauce was spread across the pizza base and baked fresh, along with attractive toppings of diced tomato and bell pepper, onions, olives and mushrooms. We felt like we were sunbathing in the hot Mediterranean at the first bite. We ordered a few pasta dishes, of which the the linguine with mushrooms in pesto sauce was my favorite. The pesto sauce didn’t have distinct tangy herbal taste as I expected, but the intense garlic flavor provided good contrast to the refreshing olive oil tossed in the linguine, along with slices of sautéed mushrooms. Another recommendation would be the vegetarian pasta, more than ten fresh vegetable ingredients were added to make it full of nutrition without skimping on taste.
After the main course, we ordered a Sweet Addiction Platter for dessert, which came with a creme brulee, a warm chocolate lava cake, and a vanilla ice-cream. A perfect choice to share and end our meal on a sweet note.
